Struggling with the diet. Dreaming of the SoF where it is so hot you can exist on the occassional piece of bread and cheeese and plenty of red wine. Daughter has just baked a fruit cake!!!!! Oh the agony.

Very OINK today, a 6oz/170gm piece of scotch fillet steak, well peppered, thinly covered with butter then grilled with some diced onion, served with fries and fried mushrooms, deeeeeeeeeeeliciousssssssssssss.

(OK not that big a steak, but I don't have the appetite for large servings these days, plus I couldn't afford the mortgage on a larger piece)

It is hard to diet when you have good food in front of you.

I wonder if horsemeat is good for diets?

I am on my final (?) push to get my weight below 14 stone (196 lb) before my holiday. I have been banned by my wife from wearing Speedos unless I lose another two stone. Oh, the hunger.

Just demolished a goodly helping of beef casserole with mashed taters followed by finishing off a tub of strawberry ice cream YUM YUM.

We are not only coming up to a major oink oink time of year but I am preparing for an opp in January so the weight loss thing is very important. I am now down to 13'6" (188 pounds) so I am well on target for Christmas dinner, which I love. My wife has this year made a Christmas Pudding using a Jamaican recipe which our cousins gave us. This involves copious amounts of Rum. It will also be accompanied by cream, brandy butter and probably custard (at least mine portion will be) It is delicious and not so heavy as tradition Christmas pud. If anyone would like the recipe I will post it. We will probably have Turkey, although I personally love goose, but usually get voted down.

Teddy, instead of brandy butter and custard try Advocaat, (basically brandy eggs and milk - think of it as brandy custard) less fat, no preparation time - except opening the bottle and pouring; the ladies can finish any advocaat by making Snowballs (Advocaat and lemonade) You can still have the cream - just this once mind!
