It's getting worse

Saw this on a photography site

*** local council have gone all out mental regarding photography in the town centre this year. At the top is that old chestnut about it being against the law to take a photo when there's a child present, but they threw all manner of wonderful other bits about how the law is different for someone who decides in advance to go take a photo, and someone who just takes one on the spur of the moment. Also, if you want to take a photo of some interesting old building, or a pigeon doing something funny, then you also require public liability insurance and a CRB check.

Perhaps the least funny bit was when I was told that if I wanted to take a photo of something, I needed to check in at the town hall first and notify them what I would be taking pictures of, and I'm not to do it between the hours of 9:30 - 5:00 on Monday - Saturday. Seriously.

What a load of cobblers on the part of the council! (CRB - criminal record check)

How daft is that, you have to check in first and it looks like you can only take photos on Sunday or at night. By the time you have got insurance and a CRB check the building will have fallen down, and the pigeon will have stopped doing the funny thing.

Sure is getting mighty oppressive o'er there in "England's green and pleasant lands"...Thats what happens when Govt. does not serve the people anymore - people serve it! "Dark Satanic Mills" comes to mind...

It does feel that way CD. Illegal immigrants have human rights over the locals. Terrorists and murderers can not be deported because they have human rights. But if you dare to take a photograph in the wrong place....you are in trouble. Special car lanes for VIPs and innocent people being spied on and arrested for minor offences using anti terrorist laws. Can I come and live with you CD and do you have a spare Glock?
