Hi all,

I'll be gone for a week, starting Sunday and ending Saturday next. I've got band camp to go to, we go away for a week, so no internet. Just didn't want you to think I disappeared ;)

Have a good time. Will you be using tents? :D

No no haha we go to a camp site with our rival hs band. Although we are rivals in sports (like huge rivals) in band we don't honor the rivalry and do alot of things together, such as band camp. We do a couple of fund raisers together, and do the pre-game show together at the thanksgiving day game. At camp we stay in a cabin type deal. It's just that it's rather in the middle of no-where, so there's no internet. Barely any cell coverage either.

It's great to stay in the middle of no-where every now and then. No shops, no television, no internet, no city noise, no nothing. Just you and nature.

Anyway, have a good time, MT.

And ofc the sound of 400 band students learning how to play and march all over again ;)

Well I'm sure alot of people join stay for a week, and then just disappear without a trace. I wanted to make sure that this was not the case :)

I am sure you will all have a good time, and memorable for the students. Take plenty of alcohol with you. If not the leg, it will help ease any pain in the ears.

Hi MT. So how was it?

Not bad. Had a couple of students get a little dehydrated, but that was taken care of easily enough. Other than that, no major issues on our end. Our rival band, on the other hand, one student broke his ankle, and another banged his wrist pretty good. Luckily, the parents of the young man who broke his ankle were with us as volunteers. I got home, and made that reply. Got comfortable in my recliner and got my foot off and everything. You know how you get relaxed and you realize you're actually exhausted? Yeah that happened to me last night. Fell asleep where I was sitting. Got a nice tan out of it, though ;)

Sounds like you had fun. I know exactly that relaxed/exhausted feeling. Often times it's not even physical, but mental.

That rival band - where did they get all that injuries? A technically demanding repertoire perhaps? ;)

It's amazing, you keep going and going and going then it very suddenly hits you and you realize just how tired you are. The one with the wrist was goofing off with a few of his band mates, and managed to run into a tree. Banged it up pretty good. Nothing broken, just a good solid hit. As for the broken ankle, the story I got was he was running (of his own accord) and hit a hole in the ground just right and tripped. That's just the story I got, I happened to of seen the other.
