I like it, but is it jazz?

Excellent John. Jazz for sure. A quick count tells me I have 4 Freshmen CD'S. Their harmonies sometimes recall the sound of the Stan Kenton Band in places. IMO they were the best at what they did.

Stanley Jordan is very talented, I don't own any of his music, it's not my style. I enjoyed the piece though, is it jazz? Not enough for me IMO.

What about the GREAT Jack Teagarden? Not only a brilliant vocalist, but one of the best ever in my book on trombone?

Does not matter Eric. Mention JT around here and a lot of us drop to our knees. HE's THE MAN. Great player. Great vocalist.

I would class this as jazz. It's just that this genre is so wide that it's difficult to draw a "do not cross" line in the sand.

Yes .... a great big "BUT" there are some things that don't sit well with a Guitar. no dynamics at all!

Its more about losing the soul of the original for me Colin

It looses everything teddy why not stick to what you can do, if you want to take the psis out of serious music at least make a better effort.
