In the last week or so I've been getting this annoying box appearing everytime I try to leave a page

"This page is asking if you really want to leave" or some such dialogue,

I'm not getting it on other sites any suggestions/ideas?

As far as I know, the message appears once you've typed a message. It prevents you from losing it in case you accidentally hit the "Back" button in your browser. I've just tried it myself and it turns out that if you type something in the Quick Reply window and then delete it, the message will still appear. If you're just browsing through a thread, it shouldn't happen.

I never get that on this site. I only get it if I am on a site and an advert comes up, and I want to close the advert.

It happens to me every time I click the back button from within a thread, not just after typing in reply, I've also had it when I click "unread messages" from within a thread

I haven't even got a back button but you probably picked up a virus from one of those unsavory sites :p

What browser are you using Colin? I use Firefox and the Forward and Back "buttons" are in the top LH corner along with Home, Reload etc, below "File" "Edit" etc. In Firefox a right click on the toolbar brings up a window which allows you to customise the options available by dragging them to/from the toolbar and Window.

I still have the problem and it's beginning to get more than somewhat annoying, only on this forum, every time I try to leave a thread, I get "Are you sure?"

Happens when using back button, trying to navigate away from the thread by clicking on "Unread Posts" or any other option to close the thread, (Reply or Edit work OK, but that is not closing the thread)

I also get Are you sure? if I try to close the site with a thread open

With your experience I won't ask about anti virus and scans, but have to tried re setting your internet setting in SECURITY. This cleared a couple of faults I was experiencing.

Mike I am back with IE9 tried the others FireFox, chrome and found IE the most stable, I have the back button on the top left but suddenly it does not work on MIMF? but IE has a "close tab" button @top right which is my exit point but this only takes me back to my mail box and not the previous page, OK correction .... from a reply box it does not work but from the advanced window it works and sends me back to reply window............
