Kenneth Goodman was a well known concert and church organist. I believe he was the first Black American to graduate from the Julliard School in NYC. He did a concert tour of New Zealand in 1962 at which time I met him and was appointed to be his driver. In 1969 I was on tour in the USA and Canada when I got on a Greyhound Bus in Toronto and the only free seat was beside Kenneth. He was on a musical appreciation tour of High School in Illinois and he invited me to accompany him for a week. Kenneth died several years ago in Chicago. I would dearly love to get my hands on any recordings of his work. Several years of internet searches have never shown up listed recordings.

and, try contacting the Chicago area A.G.O. (American Guild of Organists) who may have members who remember this artist.

I noticed a great deal of info on him when I searched the internet. What an interesting man and from nothing to one of the greatest concert/professors of his time it seems. Not many organist got to study with Dupre for sure.

You are absolutely right there, Bill ... what a great opportunity to have studied with Dupré :).

One would think there would be recordings of this artist, maybe not a professional CD, but a personal recording, although in that era people didn't have the likes of anything close to a Zoom H4.

Hopefully, someone will find a clip on YouTube or somewhere.
