Suggestions for a Christmas Anthem

Hi,
Hoping you can help me here.
I've been asked to put together a small group of singers for a small Anthem at a Carol concert this year.

Here are my problems:

1) time is against me
2) I've never done this before
3) haven't got a clue which anthem to use.

1 & 2 are my problems clearly ... but can anyone suggest a nice anthem we can try?
Predominately the singers will be male, but we have a fantastic solo Soprano too.

Would appreciate your thoughts and suggestions
Jonesey.

Perhaps a boys choir peice with a solo aprt.. and use your soprano for the solo part and already have the male parts Pie jesu,O Holy Night,Ave Verum Corpis,You being in UK should find many parish churches with this style of music available more so then here is USA. Good Luck

KH ... long time no speak - how are things?
I think I might have found a lovely anthem as well ... what do you think to the Advent Peace Canon:

That's a nice one, Jonesey ... a nice take off on the Pachelbel Canon.

Yea, it's been awhile hasn't it ... things are fine with me - still playing every week in church and doing a couple solo/accompanist venues every year, too. Next up is the Advent/Christmas portion of Handel's Messiah in December for me ... as a solo accompanist on organ.

Have to admit I have a soft spot for Little Drummer Boy. Whatever you do make sure that you post it here for us to all enjoy

I used to loathe Drummer Boy when in school ... we did it every year in grammar school, junior high, senior high and college. Puddily pum ... ad nauseum ....

Now, in these later years, I have come to appreciate it lots more - I even do a rendition of it at our Christmas Eve services on the organ.
