Big virus inside facebook ?

BIG VIRUS ON FACEBOOK ?
My facebook is so slow that I cannot write in it.
I have to wait several seconds before I can tape a new character.
This happens in France to many people since a week.

I have noticed than when I am visiting any site with Firefox, my processor is less than 10% busy.
The memory used by Firefox is then 50 Mb.

As soon as I log in Facebook, the processor activity becomes 50 or 60% and the memory used by Firefox goes up to 280 Mb

I believe it is a virus. Then I must close firefox (when it wants, or vith CTRL ALT SUPPR) to return to a small processor activity.

What do you think of that ? How is Facebook in your country ?

I very rarely use Facebook, maybe pop in once a week to keep an eye on the grandchildren, but I imagine it would be an ideal place to launch a virus. I have no idea how many subscribers there are but when you consider the cross section of people who use it in all parts of the world, what better place. Best of luck with the de-bugging Jean-Paul.

I use FB and have not encountered any performance issues of late. Was on there last night and able to post quickly and answer a few messages without any difficulty.

When things start to slow down for me, I dump my cache and cookies ... whenever our 'cache' is full, the browser has to search through all the cookies to see if there has been anything updated before it displays the page. Granted this can save time, especially with sites we visit frequently, but it can also hinder the search for data, if there are too many cookies for the one site that we are trying to load.

Could also be the relay servers/routers between our home connection and the site we are trying to view ... if those get bogged down and/or experience low bandwidth for awhile, it can affect lots of users.
