Yet another rights grab, it soon won't be safe to put any images on line, copyright will be a thing of the past.

Companies like Farcebook and Google think anything hosted on one of their sites is theirs to do what they like with; Now it's images, how long before music goes the same way?

I hope not ... at least with printed music. That is something I consider very 'sacred' - not in a religious sense, but something that really needs to be protected as part of our world's heritage.

Though we may see this as yet another invasion of our privacy, we have to remember that the internet is a very public space, accessible to anyone in the entire world, with a few exceptions. We knew that our 'privacy' was going to be somewhat limited when we all made that first step into the cyber world. IMHO, anyway.

I do not agree with everything that Facebook does, but I mainly use it for idle chit chat with a very select group of people. For personal stuff, I lease drive space somewhere "in the cloud" from which I can share privately with family/friends without any fear of it being exploited by others without my permission.

The individual downloading something for their own use, like study, no problem, but when a big company does it to enhance their own profits at our expense then a slow, lingering, painful bankruptcy or other assault on their corporate wealth would be a fitting punishment.

Good point :)

Problem is though, with bankruptcy proceedings, we the taxpayers are footing that bill to see the deserved prosecution put into motion. Meanwhile, the top brass continue to get their 'bonuses' like Hostess is doing here in the US, even though they are no longer in business, per se.
