Eric, sorry I missed that post on 25th Jan. I used to get Manchester Sports Guild jazz flyers for upcoming concert tours by some of the musicians, I think they were contained within the Jazz Journal.
Also, Ernie Garside? sent out flyers on upcoming tours.
Until you mentioned the Dave Brubeck 'Tonight Only' CD, I had only one track (A Carmen McRae vocal) from this on Cd. I have since listened to the short excerpts on Amazon and I really enjoy what I hear and this one is on my 'must get soon' list.:)

Ah yes, the Jazz Journal! I don't remember those flyers. I did like the journal though. The MSG jazz in the cellar was a super venue - not quite Ronnie Scott's but it was the best we had in Manchester. There were many famous visiting artists.
I'm really glad that you like Tonight Only! It's always been one of my favourite LPs and now I have it on CD. I was a great Brubeck fan and saw him quite a few times at the Free Trade Hall in Manchester. This was where the important groups all played. And Carmen McRae has always trailed JUST behind Ella as my favourite female vocalist.
