If North Korea gets serious!, what does the world do!

Yeah, poor North Korea, not giving up and losing a war with the disUnited States.
Yeah, too bad the leadership of that sovereign country aren't Bush league.
A recent television documentary says 90% of the people in Ohio have used meth.
When will North Korea catch up?

In a further sign of the continuing tension on the Korean peninsula, South Korea has begun withdrawing its remaining workers from the Kaesong joint industrial zone in North Korea.
The complex, once considered a symbol of reconciliation, lies just north of the military demarcation line dividing the two Koreas.
South Korean officials said 126 people had left, with the final 48 expected home by Monday.
North Korea has already withdrawn its 53,000 workers and blocked access to the zone in response to joint South Korean and US military exercises.

The thing that is a bit of a worry is the reaction of the Chinese if any attempt were made to shut him up

NK knows that it will receive some empathy from Beijing, but even there, there are limits...

I can not see China sacrificing their international trade for the sake of a nutcase

You are both right of course and if it was not for China feeding the them in all respects North Korea would be history by now they want it as a next door neighbour in preference to South Korea they should tell him to pull his neck in.

As China becomes more westernised they may well find that South Korea would be preferable as a neighbour. Having an unstable nutter next door is never a pleasant experience and just the mere presence of NK may have an unsettling effect on the country. The Southerners tend to be more rational and peaceful and with a little encouragement could well take over the whole country. It would be very little different to the re unification of Germany, and just as welcomed by all.

Would China want the USA as a next door neighbour which would happen if the south took over? I think they would prefer the status quo which would mean backing the North if anything happened IMO

USA won't be the next-door neighbor to China - so don't worry - What is easily lost in the debacle over and about NK is that when the regime folds, about 17 million people will be "state-less". China is not looking forward to having 17 million more people to feed, clothe, house, healthcare, jobs and everything else all of a sudden. There's a difference between 17 million people who are born over a period of time - now contrast that to 17 million who immediately show up at the doorstep - Big Difference! Should all NKers flow into SK, SK would be bankrupted if they receive no help from the IMF, ECB, Federal Reserve and other monetary agencies. Its a lose-lose situation for everyone.

CD In January 2014 Bulgarians and Romanians (app. 29,000,000) will have the right to come to Britain as EU citizens and claim all the benifits that we have worked our ****** off to earn. Houseing schooling NHS social security etc etc. I have suggested sending them to North Korea...........

Please don't type about China becoming "westernized".
China is not only more ancient than any western "civilization",
it's been bigger with more population all along.
Western countries are recent politics with multicultural peoples,
and never had the unity China has as a country.

Besides, when you look at the stuff around your house and car,
are you seeing made in China or made in your country?
Jus'askin' if you're being easternized.
