The flooding ( three times in five days) in Cumbria is being blamed on climate change. Funny that we have had heavier rainfalls several times in the last 100 years without this happening. Nothing to do with the fact that THERE IS MORE TARMAC, CONCRETE AND BUILDING leading to more run off and less soaking into the ground. Nothing to do with 249 flood defence programmes being shelved or postponed. Nothing to do with the rivers not being dredged to protect mollusks. Nothing to do with drainage being taken away from the control of the farmers and controlled by government who ignored the warnings over a ten year period from the people who understood the land. But don't worry, people of Cumbria. We are giving India 2,3 BILLION pounds to India for flood control. And of course another 12.7 BILLION pounds in foreign aid, most of which is either wasted on vexatious schemes of wasted on poor administration. Sorry about your ruined Christmas.

All you have to do is see the "Throne of England",
to see the attitude of those foreigners who dominate English royalty.
It is a very old piece, a true antique.
But it's just an old wooden chair, beaten up, hardly any carving,
no precious metals or jewels or any adornment.
The do have a slab of stone underneath it that they say is the stolen "Stone of Scone",
what Jewish political refugees gave accepting Scottish people as a gift.
That's supposed to be the device Jacob stood on as a ladder, to see into heaven.

It's not easy losing any comfort zone, but we have too many comfort zones.
All mammals, humans included,
live 20% longer if you are hungry and cold.
"The more money I see the more problems I find". I totally agree.

I did something I've never tried before on a computer,
and that's because I've got Windows 10, a new thing for me.
I minimized here and searched for a photo of the Throne of England.
Wikipedia showed some on top, and had an enlargement.
It had a download feature with the photographers name,
saying you had to credit him with the photo.

I kept clicking arrows and found it beside my minimized forum here,
but I don't know what to do with it. I clicked it's red X and it disappeared.

Here's the address. This was interesting. The Stone of Scone isn't there.
That's the Wikipedia title, the Throne of England without the Stone of Scone.
The address I cut and pasted shows more than what ends up showing here,
saying /media/File:SanktEdvardsstaol westminster.jpg

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Edward's_Chair#/media/File:SanktEdvardsstol_westminster.jpg

Even a Canadian beaver could make short work of that rotter piece of wood.

Has this helped to diffuse the righteous indignation being expressed here?
You two kind gentlemen are too nice to be more than indignant here.
I can dig it.

Boudicca lives forever, aren't the Welsh the remains of the original English?

The Welsh are reckoned to be one of the purest races, far more so than the Scots or English. It was such a hard country to invade.

I have been searching on the www to find some answers as to who were the original Brits and there are so many different theories some going back to when Adam was a cowboy, you can find one to suite whatever you want to believe, and not even one small peep at Wiki. Interesting but ....................

We are preparing for the "unbiased " referendum as to whether we should pull out of the EU. Unbiased apart from the wagon load od c**p we are being bombarded with as to why we should remain in. That idiot Obama is even sticking his oar in telling us its the best thing for us. I would like to see America being run by a bunch of unelected idiots whos sole interest was to line their own pockets. But out and put your own country to rights.

Russia has given Fiji a large amount of weapons?
Fiji is controlled by the Army and has internal problems such as the native Fijians and the imported Indians, it is also a prime position in the pacific for a Russian base. here we go again.
I am with you teddy plus the big boys should stay at home.
Why do I get the feeling that the arms manufactures hate peace.

We already have them ... except they are elected without any term limits whatsoever. Congress has its own private retirement plan, its own private medical plan, both of which are paid for with taxpayer dollars and which nobody else on earth can even get ... that along with annual raises in pay even when the cost of living did not rise for 2016. Those of us who are pensioners did not get a raise for 2016, but still have to pay taxes to support a group of idiots who vote raises for themselves.

I'm all for term limits on any elected office. The President of the US can only hold office for two terms ... 8 years ... and then he's out. Senators and Congress also needs to have the same term limits ... too many "good ol' boys" hanging on until they die. Sad.

Krummhorn, not to just put down the disUnited States, respecting your residency,
but the United States has two big problems that prevent law and democracy,
from being the same as Canada, and most of the rest of the world.

In the United States, defending lawyers don't work for the government.
The worst effect of that is not having to give all your evidence to the government.
It also means defending lawyers can do whatever has to be done, to get off.
And "getting off" is a legal term for that, and all it may imply.

The second problem is the electoral college that takes the election votes,
and decides who gets to be President.
The electoral college is dominated by Democrats and Republicans,
and no-one else can get in.
I thought Ross Perot was getting up there, looking like he might win,
but when he got to the electoral college, he quit the race.
He's lucky he got to keep everything else.

As far as what's coming out of the United States, being extremely anti-Arab-Muslim,
I see the new problem as reconciling the Holy Bible and the Qu'ran.
The prison population, a huge percentage of citizens, are Muslim or converts.
It's getting better. I haven't heard or seen any sand monkeys for a while.

An American war president had four terms.

When you are an American politician,
you can travel to Hawaii and ask another United States citizen a question,
and that qualifies as a business trip for income tax deductions.

There are no extradition laws in America for Americans who commit financial crimes in another country.
You can do whatever you want, in a foreign country, and as long as you make it back to the States,
you're off, and maybe off and running.
Right now, that's Americas biggest problem, for the rest of us too.

Oh! and a stereo Oh!

You can weaponize your world. You can make your demands.

The Watt Clan stands.

When the Watt Clan stands,
and we're not known for standing or standing still,
that's because we have to stand back, alone,
out of respect, out of a fearfull love,
knowing an awefull responsibility,
when the skies open, to ask us to diffuse our ability.
It's a source that makes all our wattage flow,
and no, we can't re-fuse.

So much for an unbiased referendum on leaving the EU. The government, or at least the few in government who want to stay in, have sent a booklet to every household in the country full of lies about how good the EU is. Cost to the taxpayer £9,000,000 pounds. It is so inaccurate it could have been written by Enid Blyton. I despair

John watt = percy amp × ivor volt
or
W = A × V

What is power consumption in john watt when the current is 3 A and the voltage supply is 110V?
Answer: the total weight of a cucumber
P = 3A × 110V = 330W
The real power P in watts (W) is equal to the zero PF times the phase current I in amps (A), times the RMS (Regimental major Sergent) voltage V in volts (V):
P[SUB](W)[/SUB] = PF ×I[SUB](A)[/SUB]× V[SUB](V)[/SUB]
So all the watts are equal to power factors times amps times volts:
watt = PF ×amp × volt
or
W = PF ×A × V
Example
What is power consumption in watts when the power factory is 0.8 and the phase current is 3A and the RMS voltage supply is 110 V?
Answer: the power P is equal to power factor of 0.8 times current of 3 amps times voltage of 110 volts.
P = 0.8 × 3A × 110V = 264W

Just goes to show WATT a college education does for you.
