What wrong in asking?? It's to donate to a church if anyone is willing to give it away... With so many churches shutting down as they can't maintain and with lesser congregation, donating to a poorer yet true worshipping nation in real faith not uncalled for..

Where abouts in the world do you live samdav. This might make a difference. The little village in Wales were I grew up has lost three of their chapels. The equipment had to go somewhere.

The request is for a church in India. I have been living in the UK for few years and I've read, heard and see things donated to other places of need. But wasn't sure if an organ could be donated.

samdav! If I, someone living near Niagara Falls in Canada, could donate an organ to you I would.
Too much of our Christian news is fixated around the middle east,
and most people don't know about the churches along India's coast
that the disciples of Jesus of Nazareth attended, mosaics of them still on the walls.
If I remember, that was Matthew and Simon.
I wouldn't turn my back on the Bhagavad-Gita. It has an important message for the new millennium.
The Holy Bible is meant to be understood in the worst of times, where we are now as God's not-so-good earth.

With all the churches that have closed I would think someone must have one somewhere. Have you tried approaching The Church of England to find out what happens when they close a church?

I heard that only 2% of Brits attend church on Sundays.

Hope your serach is coming along/ there is another member who plays the organ at a Cathedral in India who also seeks help with their imnstallation. I do know for a fact that many organs are donated here in the USA to Churches by individuals, corporations, groups etc. I would post everywhere you can.. maybe even Craig's List in some of the international site locations, Music blogs , local AGO organization etc , etc. Hopefully that one indiviual/group will heed for needs.

JHC! I just bought, for $1, the best book on whales, dophins and porpoises that I've ever seen.
It has a pictorial for each one, for one thing.
Only New Zealanders can say they have a native whale.
I'll have to look up the name for you.

If someone in India builds a pipe organ, no doubt it could be the most decorative,
and the loudest,
made out of hammering the smokestacks from scrapping ocean liners.
