Where's the pleasure in this?

Why do they all pack into a few yards from the access points and leave a lot of beach almost empty? If you look out from the top of the cliffs you can tell where all the access points are, a few yards of densely packed numpties then next to nothing for a few hundred yards.

About 5 pm they all make a dash for their cars and sit, often in pain due to too much sun, in miles of gridlock most of the way home. That was further screwed up yesterday by a car flipping on the road home.

By early evening a few locals drift down to the almost empty beach with the temperature down to a reasonable level and little risk of sunburn. The kids can build sandcastles without getting them kicked down every few minutes, there's space for a game of beach cricket or volley ball or frisbees, less chance of getting mown down by a jetski when swimming.

The grockles who are staying on miss the best part of the day eating their hotel meals.

However not much has changed in the 70 + years I've lived around here except they now sweat in their cars instead of a crowded excursion train or coach

Just be glad that you don't live in Japan, and like swimming
