MARCO DE ANGELIS is the driving force behind ‘The River (Both Sides Of The Story)’, a new concept album representing theme of dualism: good - evil, male - female, life - death, night – day. All lyrics have thought. The sound is full of musical depth and sonic variety. Well crafted songs create a kind of mystery. It would be just a crime to blame Italian composer, musician and producer for his respect to Marillion, Peter Gabriel and Pink Floyd. Though these ingredients are around, they are performed in a good way. The time flies by when playing ‘The River’ CD and it never let the listener's attention wander off... :)

Marco De Angelis (guitars, keyboards, piano, bass, programming) is assisted by other musicians. They seem to be on the same wavelength. Marcello Catalano provides captivating lead singing, while Fabiola Torresi, Desiree Petrocchi, Susanna Stivali, Sara Berni and Simona Rizzi add the female backing vocals. Adept drummer Christiano Micalizzi contributes a strong framework... In sum. If you appreciate such type of prog, then go out and buy!

At times, I wondered what’s happened to Italian multi-instrumentalist Marco De Angelis after his excellent album “The River” (2013). Meanwhile, Marco has created the new project – NEXT STATION. Together with the array of involved musicians, the mastermind recruited several guest vocalists including one of the most in-demand singers, Ned Sylvan (Unifaun, Agents Of Mercy, Steve Hackett group), Robbie Wyckoff (Roger Waters' band), Göran Edman (Yngwie Malmsteen, Brazen Abbot, Docker’s Guild, Karmakanic, etc).. Suffice to tell you that Next Station's CD is a formidable, entertaining and satisfying prog-release.
