Just spent the morning trying to sell my timeshare (not used it since the wife passed away 5 years ago) fed up paying £450+ in maintenace every year.
They offered me £12,000, BUT I had to first of all buy into some scheme of theirs for £8,800, and I'd get back £20.880 in 14 months time.
When I explained to him that at age 79, on a pension and with an interest only mortgage of £700+ per month where did he suggest I get £8,800 from. If the timeshare had been a luxury penthouse apartment in some sought after location then he could buy it cash and make a profit selling in Russia!
Does anybody know a painless (read cheap) way of getting rid of a timeshare. We paid £13000 for it, haggling starts at £5,000!
