'Twas the week before Christmas, and all around the house,
not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

When all of a sudden, the church organist being so meek,
realized that he was to be busy during Christmas week.

It's Messiah weekend he said, touching the side of his nose,
and rehearsals are a many, and no time to doze.

And lo he went, playing again and again,
so looking forward to the following week end.

He wont be around much in the next few days or so,
Off to the playing gigs, and rehearsals he knows.

Dash away Jetta, dash down the road,
Return home again, to sleep at his abode.

All to do it all over again the next day he said,
looking forward to that eve after services to return to bed.

And then there will be Christmas Day with the ham in the oven,
and a meal to share with family and his son.

Dash away Jetta ... run run run run,
I'll do it all again next year ... fun fun fun fun.

Now pay attention, here, I'll lay it down for you one more time,
We'll go through it, and make one more rhyme.

    12 drummers a drummin',
    11 trumpets a tootin',
    10 broken flip books,
    9 saxophones a whinin',
    8 piccolos outta tune,
    7 silent clarinets,
    6 different 8 to 5's,

    Five golden drum heads!

    4 drum majors a hurtin',
    3 movements to a show,
    2 broken ankles,
And a band director with a migraine!

You get all that? You thought this would be a good song, didn't you?
Well, I got news, this is my everyday, ya-whoo!
    Keep going, there's more,
I wish I could find some gold ore!

Let's do it one more time, we'll start from the bottom, and sing like we should.

On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me a band director with a migraine!
On the second day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, two broken ankles and a band director with a migraine!
On the third day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, 3 movements to a show, two broken ankles, and a band director with a migraine!
On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, four drum majors a hurtin', three movements to a show, two broken ankles, and a band director with a migraine!
On the fifth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, five golden drum heads! Four drum majors a hurtin', three movement to a show, two broken ankles, and a band director with a migraine!
On the sixth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, six different 8 to 5's, five golden drum heads! Four drum majors a hurtin', three movements to a show, two broken ankles, and a band director with a migraine!
On the seventh day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, seven silent clarinets, six different 8 to 5's, five golden drum heads! Four drum majors a hurtin', three movements to a show, two broken ankles, and a band director with a migraine!
On the eighth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, eight piccolos outta tune, seven silent clarinets, six different 8 to 5s, five golden drum heads! Four drum majors a hurtin', three movements to a show, two broken ankles, and a band director with a migraine!

I think you get the rest, because I'm done typing!

Same here, Teddy. Great thing about being a Teacher? Only 180 "work" days out of 365. A mere 49% of the year...

Enjoy MT. My daughter, having gain a univercity degree, is now training to be a junior school teacher. Its the long holidays which attract her, giving her time for her main love which is baking and bread making.

With the annual performance of Messiah done last night, the rest of my holiday playing season is all downhill ...
I might have time for eating and drinking at last ...

I hope you do Lars. This is the one time of the year when we can overindulge without feeling (too) guilty

I still tend to watch my eating habits ... the pounds go on easily but take forever to come off. Besides, I take Metformin twice a day and that severely affects how much I eat and when.

I am on 2000 mg of Metformin plus 4 Gliclalize tablets, asprin and now the tablets for the cancer, which make me feel like ****. I just starve to get my weighjt down, which works well for me and has allowed me to shift five stone, and keep it off. Christmas Day I will stuff, Boxing day I will be very careful to make up for it
