I guess it may be called funny my experience with this Horner's score, because there was so much fuss about it when it was released, that I started hating it even without ever having listened to it. I thought: "Oh Gosh, this must be some kind of pathetic commercial thing; better avoid it!". It was several years later, when I re-discovered Horner (for personal reasons, I must admit), that I grew curious to listen to his Titanic score, which I did and wasn't disappointed. Some cues are really beautiful.
I second that.

It's not my favorite. I heard it once from a copy of the library and I never bought it, so it did not grab my attention.

I liked and bought the soundtrack when the movie first came out. The instrumental tracks are good, but, like others have said, the song has been overplayed. However, I do still enjoy playing the song on the piano.

Yeah - can't disagree - it's been done to death and then some, but to turn the question around,

Titanic soundtrack? - what's not to like?

Yeah, that song has been commercialized and most people get tired of listening to it. But it's still a nice song, it has a profound meaning that touches one's emotion!

This kind of song is a perfect soundtrack for a timeless love story, something that you can hardly forget. Choosing a soundtrack is very essential in making movies... this is one thing that I've learned from my expert professor in film school. :)

I honestly don't like "My heart will go on". However, I really like all of the instrumental tracks, particularly "An Irish Party in third class" (It would be 10 times better if they would remove the dialouge) and "Hymn to the Sea" which wasn't really in the movie, but I still like it, especially the Uielleann pipes sections of it.
