How many hours a day do you spend listening to music and what is the method of delivery?
I personally hear music at odd times during the day via the radio I am not really listening it is just there in the back ground providing I have the time, I never listen to it on the computer, the evening is my devoted time slot about an hour or two through my Hi Fi system but I do like the volume set to realistically high levels the trouble is if my darling wife has hit the sack I have to revert to earphones which give a very good listen but do get a bit hot at times. So about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs a day.

I too have a varied listening schedule.. more at late night as I stay up most of the of night.... I use TV ( PBS and classical arts station) which is a stereo TV and I have adapter to hook TV up to my stereo unit with my optimus speakers .When up loud gives a great sound hooked into my stereo system ; many times use computer hooked up to my stereo system or headphones for youtube, here and other sites.; DVD player also.... I like to listen to music and follow the score. sometimes I even play along with some music on my keyboards ( great for concerto work and learning ) so many days 1-4 hours.

Typically 10 hours plus daily, mostly streaming audio on the PC - last.fm - mix of Elizabethan, baroque, jazz and big band swing; meal times and reading in bed Radio or occasionally CD. I also have a lot of CDs and downloaded music which I play as an alternative to the streaming audio.

PC is connected to Technics receiver driving KEF speakers, other rooms have mini stereo units. I do have a TV which I may watch for an hour or two in a year, plus I occasionally play Music DVDs on it.

Mine are 1980s C20 shelf ones, now discontinued, somewhat larger than the current ones, having an 8" bass as against the current 5.25"; I used to have a pair of 1970s KEF kit floor standing 3 way, you bought the front panel with 3 speakers Xover and acoustic wadding rtc and made your own case given a set of ideal dimensions, mine were initially built in to the room corners, but after moving house I added some veneer over the hi density chip board.

Domestic pressure re size led to their replacement. by smaller "neater units" - which no longer rattled the windows!

A member of our music group had Tannoy speakers built into his listening room unfortunately I never got to hear them as he lived in Auckland, he designed and marketed top range turn tables in the $30,000 range and about 90% of his collection was vinyl

While working at the PC in my home office, I'll have some form of streaming classical music going from any one of multiple resources.

While out in the car, I will play CD's through my Monsoon 8 speaker system (140w) and/or listen to the local classical station (PBS- KUAT-FM).

I do need to use my home audio system more though - I've fixed it up so that we can watch movies on the TV with superb sound. I've got the surround speakers but have yet to install them, or the center speaker. That's another project for later in the spring ... one of many on my 'honey-do' list.
