    Scotland the brave

If Scotland do go it alone I assume the Union Jack will have to be rehashed or just remove the cross of St Andrew. I mention this because our politicians want to change our flag.(this is a diversionary trick as we are coming up for a Sept election)

What would a new British flag look like?

If you look for the union flag on Wiki

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Union_Jack

scroll down and you will find images of the constituent parts, the flag is made from the English St George's cross and Irish St Patrick's cross, both red on a white ground, The Scottish St Andrew's cross is white on a blue ground so you should end up with just losing the blue areas.
    Cheers MIKE.

Kernow - AKA Cornwall has been muttering for ages, doubt if Dorset would want to go it alone, maybe Wessex could return when , the country splits along the old boundaries from about 519 - 1000 ish

If Scotland does split they will find things tough. Several national companies are already making arrangements to relocate from Scotland. They will need a new currency, which will not be underwritten by Britain, and it is very unlikely that they will be able to join the EU, or us`e the` Euro. They will also lose the quite considerable benefits such as free university places and free prescriptions and housing benefits. They will also have to issue their own passports. The benefits to England would be quite substantial as we subsidise then to a greater extent. More money for us.

Which will not find its way far enough down the trough for the likes of us to benefit!
    Cheers MIKE.

Shouldn't be a problem, already too many students chasing meaningless/useless degrees.
    Cheers MIKE.

The higher fees are` discouraging some of the wallies from taking the rubbish courses and there are subsidies for science maths and teaching. My daughter is only (?) paying £5,000 this year. Of course the foreign students get their loans and them bugger of back home without repaying them. Hopefully UKIP will put paid to that

Well, as we know, Scotland voted to remain in the Union. I'm glad, as I'm the product of the Union, with one parent Scottish and one English. They met in wartime.

Of course, with all the Brexit woes, it hasn't really settled the question...

    Interesting times we're living in.
