• Welcome to the Pipe Organ Forum! This is a part of the open community Magle International Music Forums focused on pipe organs (also known as "church organs"), organists, organ music and related topics.

This forum is intended to be a friendly place where technically advanced organists and beginners (or even non-organists) can feel comfortable having discussions and asking questions. We learn by reading and asking questions, and it is hoped that the beginners (or non-organists) will feel free to ask even the simplest questions, and that the more advanced organists will patiently answer these questions. On the other hand, we encourage complex, technical discussions of technique, music, organ-building, etc. The opinions and observations of a diverse group of people from around the world should prove to be interesting and stimulating to all of us.

As pipe organ discussions can sometimes become lively, it should be pointed out that this is an open forum. Statements made here are the opinion of the poster, and not necessarily that of the forum itself, its administrator, or its moderators.

In order to post a new topic - or reply to existing ones - you may join and become a member by clicking on Register New User. It's completely free and only requires a working email address (in order to confirm your registration - it will never be given away!). We strive to make this a friendly and informative forum for anyone interested in pipe organs and organ music.

    Many kind regards

Long-time readers of this site may remember in years past I used to post rather frequently with audio clips of rare/new/privately recorded music for organ..

In recent years I have simply not made the time to do so as much - life has at times been far more complicated that it should have been, and I have not set aside time to do some of the things I love.

Hopefully, that is changing!

I've long wanted to do a video presentation featuring similar material to what I used to post, hopefully to reach a larger audience. To that end, I've started a YouTube broadcast - at first probably only once a month, but hopefully more frequently if I make the time. It will feature my favorite rare "finds", many of which are not commercially recorded or released. I'm also endeavoring to give links to scores and recordings whenever available.

I hope you will have a look and listen - I welcome your comments and feedback...

Left comments on your youtube page. Enjoyed and found 2 I really cared for: Fanfare by Ashford which you played excellently and Communion by Rozan.. Others not to my normal tonality/chordal preferences.Old time fuddy type here. more into earlier periods of music.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for listening and commenting... I admit my tastes in music run to the more modern (but, I tried not to share the really weird stuff this time!)

Best,

Jonathan,

So glad to see this being done ... I myself frequently introduce 'unknowns' as part of my literature presented as Preludes and Postludes in my parish.
To learn what these female composers have contributed to our craft is wonderful project, and I thank you for taking the time to produce these for us.

Enjoyed them all ... I have a liking to the more contemporary works as well, but also enjoy the great masters of all time equally.

Thanks, Lars...

New episodes won't necessarily all be about female composers - the broad topic is neglected composers. Certainly, ladies will be prominently featured, as they are quite squarely in the neglected category, however. Also, the program will tend toward romantic/modern works, as those are the ones most under-represented these days.

My best,
