Hi DorsetMike,
Thats quite a photo - Seldom one can see so few cars on such a freeway into Moscow...I wonder if it is one of the new freeways. Also, alot of new Metro(subway)stations have opened in the past six months...by 2017, Moscow will have opened 72 new stations. And in September the Metro station I use very often will be closed for 2 years for renovation

The photo is dated 2012, also taken around dawn so that may explain the lack of vehicles.

24 hours/day, 365 days a year the roads leading in and out of Moscow are heavily trafficked - This photo was probably taken on one of the national holidays when most Muscovites take the day off.............
