CHRISTMAS CLASSICS PLAYED IN ENTIRELY NEW WAY BY PIANIST DAN CHADBURN

It is always great to hear classic melodies interpreted in a fresh way -– stating the theme and then improvising around it. This is what pianist Dan Chadburn does on his latest album, WHISPERS THE FALLING SNOW. Half the album is made up of Christmas favorites played in an entirely new way. There also are three original tunes on the recording that are winter-themed (including the title track).

Do yourself a favor and seek out this great seasonal music to improve your Christmas holiday season. I should point out that the non-Christmas tracks will work well in the early new year as well. Because this is instrumental solo piano music, you could actually enjoy listening to this year-round. Chadburn is adept at playing the themes of the traditional tunes and then making up unique and creative music around the original melodies. He improvises like a jazz musician, but performs gently like a new age player. This is beautiful stuff. Between the eggnog and the hot toddies, take a taste of this online somewhere and see if you don’t go back for seconds.
