Jerome, I'm only of Scottish descent, born near Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.
Saying you are of South African birth doesn't necessarily make your ancestors African.
Your influences don't suggest that deep a native background.
I just got an as new VHS of the original Riverdance, and love the music.
Aren't you feeling the Irish-Celtic, slightly Gaelic romance?

I must say I am a big fan of Irish folk in fact all folk music has a place in my tender heart, even the pub music which is so spontaneous The Chieftains and the Dubliners are loaded into my car CD player alongside Beethoven and Shostakovitch.
