Yeah, Mat, absolutely. I've been listening to a lot of Brahms, Mahler and Rachmaninoff. I guess I'm just a romantic at heart after all is said and done!

Tchaikovsky--Symphony No.6 in B minor, Op.74 {"Pathetique"} performedbytheMunich Philharmonic conducted by Sergiu Celibidache.
I had quite forgotten just how stirring and inspirational the third movement of this piece is, as I haven't listened to it in its entirety since I was a teenager whose best friend was a violinist who played in the All City Orchestra and introduced me to Leopold Stokowski, who just happened to be conducting them when I was in attendance during one of their rehearsals.

Now I am envious

Colin, I was "just in the right place at the right time'', and I will cherish having shaken his hand and spoken with him until the day I die. It goes to prove the old saw once more that "it's not what but whom you know!"

I've been listening to Dvorak symphonies. Performed by Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra/Zdenek Kosler (1-7) and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra/Paavo Jarvi (8-9).

Today it will be the 3rd.
