Grace Rodson announces the video for the title track and debut single from her second album ‘Samba In My Bones’, to be released March 2015 on JFM Records. Grace has had a diverse and eventful career leading up to 2015 having performed on prestigious stages and TV stations such as Glastonbury, and BBC TV’s Children in Need. Not to mention touring across Europe with Bjork and working alongside Ricky Martin. This has led to her winning numerous awards; including ‘Best Singer’ in UK Unsigned (2009) and ‘Best Album, Best Female Singer and Best Song’ at the GSD Latin Music Awards (2011) as well as being a finalist for ‘Vocalist of the Year’ in the LUKAS Awards. In addition to her singing, songwriting and performing accolades her image has also begun to be recognised in the fashion industry, being picked up by exclusive designer brand Dar Sara Fashion who created the bespoke dresses featured in this video.
‘Samba In My Bones’ crafts a unique sound using Latin drums grooves and catchy guitar hooks, highlighted by a strong 90’s aesthetic, which is further complemented by Grace Rodson’s‘transparent’ and memorable vocal prowess. Grace’s focus and passion has always been in music, “I sing because of my unconditional love for music, studying every single aspect of it that falls into my hands”. This is clearly evident in the emotional resonance of her vocal character, which is heard throughout her diverse range of material spanning across multiple genres. It’s interesting to note the video for ‘Samba In My Bones’ was filmed at Sarastro Restaurant, who sponsor Grace Rodson and invite her to perform regularly. Previously known as Graciela, Grace Rodson has nurtured her talent in many groups, most notably singing with ‘the Godfather of Salsa’ Roberto Pla, notable for his strong influence on the afro-latin music scene. Completing a postgraduate degree in Vocal Jazz at the Royal Academy of Music, her abilities have even led her to conduct / compose with the London String Ensemble for a film.
2015 is set to be an exciting year for Grace Rodson with the upcoming release of her second studio album ‘Samba In My Bones’ following her debut L.P ‘Now It Is Me’.This release features an array of talented musicians including Dave Kilminster, (touring musician with Roger Waters),Xantone Blacq (pianist for Amy Winehouse) and Francesco Mendolia (drummer for Incognito). In addition to this, Grace Rodson will be recording an E.P in Spanish as well as unveiling other exciting projects.
To celebrate the release of this lead single, Grace will be performing an exclusive invite only show at The Library Members Club in Leicester Square on Wednesday the 10th of March, alongside an array of upcoming media appearances.
