A Classical Music Fan

Hello.
I have always enjoyed classical music. My favourite composers at the moment are Kabalevsky, Stravinski, and Vaughan Williams. Next week it very probably will change. I came to this site from TalkClassical because an estimable fellow there named Krummhorn suggested that this would be a great alternative site, should the one that I customarily hang out at suffer a technical meltdown. Since I am not one of those computer geeks that can ease their way around a broken site, here I am. I hope I won't become a horrid gawdelpus here, and I will try to keep all my postings well mannered.

Welcome to the forums. I am sure you will enjoy and learn many things here as well as exposure to many composers and musical forms.

Welcome to MIMF

We have several TC'ers who regularly visit this site, so you may see some familiar names. We offer a wide variety of music discussions covering most every aspect of the musical spectrum.

We do apologize for the random outages on TC - they have been reported to the site owner and that's about all I can do. When TC is down for you, it is also down for me .

RVW Sym#3 “Pastoral”

Wow, a "requiem for the First World War". I can understand the context now. I had found #3 to be melancholic, but this does make things clearer for me. Thanks JHC!
