My name is Br. Roland Laliberte from St. Johns, Florida. I'm a self-taught classical organist and look forward to being part of the forum. My log on name "Saber4mike" is my radio call sign from Vietnam. In addition to music my other hobby is photography.

New Organ Purchase

I've just purchased a used Johannus Prestige 20 and can't wait until it's delivered. Getting back to the music ministry after 36 years, I've had a horrible time trying to find a reasonable practice instrument. I'm using a Galanti PII, the sound is terrific but the electronics have a temperment of their own.

Fix one thing and something else happens. I was going to purchase a PIII but decided against it because of the lack of communication with the American Rep for parts and answers.

Welcome. You share my two major passions.
Albert, the Johannus also has the SP Facade. As far as photography I enjoy portraiture and nature. I just started playing around with underwater photography...using an Olympus TG2. The rest of my equipment is Canon.

It's difficult, thinking about penitence, when it's something I've never been ordered to do,
or called to do.
You're talking about new technology, while up here in the Niagara Peninsula,
there are organs and pianos being offered for free every day.
I had a big Thomas Organ out in the garage, sitting on a pallet on a stone bed,
where playing with the rain beating on the metal roof helped me get into it.

I've seen Florida in movies, TV and news so much I feel like I've been there.
A little Canon trivia.
The Gaelic spelling of Watt has fourteen letters.
The first five are c a n o n.
A Scotsman also helped found the Bank of Japan,
so Japanese could expect fair treatment from Europeans,
and negotiated the lease of the island of Hong Kong.
Our Chinese history is more interesting.

Watch out for Krummhorn. He knows how to pull out all the stops.
