Hi, I'm Basia and recently I've heard so much about Canadian public transport, esspecially in Vancouver. And all of it was good. I'd love to hear a personal view on this from the Canadians themselves. :) I know you guys are out there somewhere, it'd help a lot for my upcoming debate.

Thanks a bunch!

Hi Basia,

Do you mean municipal transport? Buses and subway? Because in that case it depends on the city, I would guess. Here in Montreal we`ve got a subway system (metro) which is great. It`s actually in the process of being expanded. Don`t use it so much anymore though because I`ve got a car.

Hey Rojo,

I mean buses, trains and trams mainly, but subways are excellent too. I have an important question though, you said that you have a car now, and you would rather drive to work then use the subway... is it because the public transport is too much of a hastle? Or using your car is just more conveiniant?

Well, if I lived close to the metro, I probably would not bother having a car (it`s so expensive!), but where I am, I have to take a bus to get to the metro. Public transport is not really that much of a hastle, but it takes more time, and I must say, once one has experienced the freedom one has when one has one`s own car, it`s hard to go back to public transport. Plus, I enjoy driving. :)

A lot of people are unhappy about the fact that the cost of the expansion of the metro is going way, way over budget...

Hey thanks for that Rojo!

I was just curious how public transport was thought of, oooo, on the other side of the world. Haha.

Anyway, thanks, really appreciated!
