IT BITES have confirmed that they have split up. The band had been largely inactive of late, with singer/guitarist John Mitchell involved with a host of other projects including Lonely Robot, Frost*, Kino and Arena. The last It Bites studio album, 'Map Of The World', was released in 2012, although a Live In London box set of early performances was released last year.

Neil Peart, the legendary drummer of iconic Canadian band Rush, has died. He was 67.
The influential musician and lyricist died Tuesday in Santa Monica, Calif., after having been diagnosed with brain cancer, according to a statement issued Friday by a family spokesperson.
Peart made up one-third of Rush, the popular progressive rock band, along with bassist and singer Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson.
Peart was widely considered one of the best drummers in rock history. He was also Rush’s primary songwriter. He joined the band in 1974 and was with Rush through to the end of their final tour in 2015.

A long-awaited PYLGRYM album is finally going ahead. If work will proceed according to the schedule, 'The Divide' can be released later this year. It's really interesting to hear what these gentlemen bring after their debut CD 'Pilgrimage' (2004).

The band may be quiet, but Pilgrym are not idle... The upcoming release will feature about 50 min. of material devided over seven tracks: 'Questions Unanswered', 'Illusrtated Man', 'Thousand Year Flood', 'Dissadents', 'RuperGiles's Last Afternoon Tea party', "Starless Sky' and 'Divide'. The new music goes further back into the classic 70's prog-rock sound with both production and song writing, enchanced by vintage instrumentation to achieve this..

DeYoung is confident that fans will find a lot to love when they finally get a chance to hear the new album. “If they're honest with themselves, if they were truly Styx fans, they're gonna like it,” he says. “That's my goal and I know I'm gonna accomplish it, because I'm sitting here listening to 12 tracks already that go, ‘Well, that's gonna make these people happy.’

Dennis DeYoung's new album '26 East: Volume 1,' will be released Spring 2020 via Frontiers Records and it features the duet 'To The Good Old Days' with Julian Lennon.

RICK WAKEMAN & The English Rock Ensemble have announced that they’ll release a new prog album titled 'The Red Planet' on April 3 (featuring eight newly composed pieces and is said to hark back to Wakeman's debut album 'The Six Wives of Henry VIII'. 'The Last Domino' tour will be the first gigs Genesis have played since 2007. Collins, Rutherford and Banks will be joined by longtime guitarist/bassist Daryl Stuermer and Collins’s son Nic Collins on drums.
According to Banks, '...there’ll be some new old material this time'.

DAVE KERZNER has announced yet another side-project (this time with In Continuum guitarist Fernando Perdomo) called SQUIDS OUT TO SEA. The pair unveil a video for their first track 'Till The Stars Go Out', which you can watch below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=19&v=fOjjUnrjs6g&feature=

Recorded at Abbey Road Studios, the music tips a hat to one of Perdomo's all time favourite bands, The Beatles. With Kerzner's supplying lyrics and lead vocals along with backing vocals from Robin Schell and Fernando Perdomo, this song is a retro-modern homage to classic multi-part rock operas from artists like The Beatles, Queen, Supertramp, ELO and others.
