I can't even begin to guess who made this

Hey! If I'm going to be seeing my name for so long here,
about identifying what musical instrument was used during this video,
I'll replace it with a real request about what make this model is.
And believe this old lead guitar pro, I thought I'd seen them all.

A Mohawk bassist I started a band with in the early eighties,
tracked me down, and gave me two acoustics to repair, with this electric.
I said it might be better to let the buyer rebuild it any way they wanted, instead of me.
I haven't seen him for many, many years, so I hope this visit leads to more.

This looks like a solid-body, but it's too light to be one.
Tapping it really doesn't tell much, so it's not some kind of semi-hollow body.
The head-stock has newer tuners, and it's been painted over.
There are no serial numbers or markings on the back.
It's a solid guitar and the neck is nice, so it might be worth rebuilding.

Could this be where Les Paul got some ideas?
Or am I trying to sensationalize this,
as any good, wannabe progressive rock guitarist should?
Only you can tell, if you want to.

There were so many replies and wanna-buys through Kijiji, I'm still surprised.
It's a Harmony Stratotone, H46, if I remember, from the early sixties.
I should have known if I sell something through Kijiji it would be for someone else.

AlderonFrederic! It has the Les Paul body style, but it is hollow inside. I like that much better.
This Les Paul shape was made in 1957-58, discontinued, then made again I think in 1964.
In between, S.G.s were made with three pickups with a Les Paul name on the headstock.

If this guitar was left-handed I would have tried to buy it and fix it up.
