Right - so, as I was saying, no need for any more posts on this 'introductory' thread. I'm here now.

It's been a good week and I've been on this forum rather a lot, posting but also reading and getting a sense of what the place used to be like, and what it's like now. From now on I'll be a bit more sparing, but try to post usefully just in case anyone reads and wants to join.

I have completed my first 100 posts.
No longer any need for an introductory thread.

    Hail and farewell.

I have written to the Administrator to ask him to close this thread, which has served its purpose.

I have felt that this thread was no longer useful since post no. 6.

34 posts later, I wrote to the Administrator asking if he would close it for me.

I am thinking of what will benefit the whole forum, because this forum won't survive without new members.
Introductory threads show how new members are treated, and new members want to feel that people are listening and responding to what they are actually saying.

I have started a number of threads on musical subjects and am happy to respond to any forum member who posts relevantly and courteously on those threads.

And now for some more early music while I wait for this thread to be allowed to fade.

Thank you for respecting my wish that this thread should close now.

I know Krummhorn, the administrator here, from another forum that I belong to, and I do not think that that would be his attitude at all.

I have always found him sympathetic, helpful and professional.

As I have said, I like to read posts that are courteous and relevant to the thread title, and I joined MIMF because I love music.

And music is, really, all that I care to talk about on this once-vibrant forum.

I hope, then, that this is the last post that I shall make on my own introductory thread.

    Live long & prosper, everyone.
