How's Your Weather?

Judy, I looked at some of the stories and pictures on your local news websites today. I have no words.

Yes, it is hot and sweaty here in Sydney (currently 25C and around 80 per cent humidity), but we've been lucky in comparison to other cities. Melbourne and Adelaide have had something like a week of temperatures over 40C and poor old Adelaide copped one day of over 45C, that's around 114F.

The pics below show that it's not just people who feel the heat. They've been emailed all over the place today. I believe the baby koala wandered onto the veranda of a home in Adelaide, but I'm not sure where the kangaroo was.

Cheers

You have at least 10C virtual degrees from me every day for the next couple of months, Judy.

Cheers and stay warm

Today was 3C, but we still have snow. In fact this morning there were no buses running. Typical England, a little snow and schools close and buses don't run. We have more snow expected tomorrow.

Hot! And worse to come. We're supposed to be copping Adelaide's weather over the weekend (see above, although the bowl I put outside is more likely to be used by birds and possums than koalas). Thank goodness for lemonade ice lollies.

Cheers

Where I live is usually known as the "Sunny South"

This tends to prove it wrong

these were taken about 2 hours ago, since then it's got heavier and hence deeper. Traffic is not enjoying it, somebody just tried to go up the hill, gave up after slipping all over and came down backwards.

Tucson, it's 59°F and a rain storm due in during the night, with continued showers most of the day and into Monday.

Judy, sometimes we actually do hang on to the signs like that at the bus stops here.

Where I am is fine. A bit hot, but I'm used to it.

In the state next door 65 people have died in bushfires and that's just the beginning because the emergency services people can't get into some places - http://www.theage.com.au/

More than 600 homes lost ... the numbers keep climbing. Watching the news makes me weep.

Right now we're having a heatwave here in Kentucky. Yea! The high
has been 67 degrees. I have my air on right now while it's still 64 out
side. This cold spell for the time being has been broken!

Corno, I have your humidity beat! It's now 48 degrees with 100%
humidity. No wander I've been sweating like a pig! There is enough
moisture in the air you can wring it out. It's almost raining like that.
I've seen humidity lower than that when it was raining.
