How's Your Weather?

It's supposed to warm up ten degrees, but it has only warmed up two!
Oh well, I guess it takes time. I can't expect it to be summer the next
day after having a small snow. Can't I?

Just remember these "nice" cool days when you are sweltering in the summer heat ... :nut:. I would much rather have to add clothing as opposed to removing ... one can only remove so much and ... well ... then it's down to the "bare" necessities ....

Right now in the Old Pueblo: 85°F, sunny and no wind. A cooling trend coming our way towards the end of the week.

The weather here, while predictable for early March (it's still winter, yu know!), has been "above average," meaning a darn good winter with a very cold month of January and lots of snow thus far. Some municipal authorities are whining that their snow removal budget is running out (also typical in March) and this means that during the last "storm", on Monday, driving on a residential street could prove challenging with some six to eight inches of snow on the road.

More controversially, do you think that "Nordic" people are more capable to deal with life's problems because they face such winters every year?:) It makes me roar with laughter when I read about people "bracing" for an eight-inch winter storm.

Incidentally, Finland has one of the best educational system among rich nations and so does Canada. On the other hand, Greece, Portugal, Spain, Italy don't rank that high and America isn't "the greatest nation on earth" when it comes to education either.

Perhaps adversity is a good thing and weather is all about adversity. Read about Tsestah and Tawiskaron......

So nice to 'see' you, ON! :)

Hmm. Well, I would think that having to prepare for winter each year, Nordic people may develop good organizational skills compared to other people? Not sure, and this can in no way be proven anyway. But you may be on to something with this notion. Don't think I'd go so far as to say that adversity is a good thing though. But you could be right.

Oh yeah, and the weather here has been decent for this time of year; clear skies and not too cold (-10 Celsius daytime.)

That's the spirit! We've had eleven "storms" thus far this winter (btw, a "storm" is politically defined in terms of getting all the machinery out for snow removal) and I figure we'll have a farmer's dozen before Old Man Winter goes into hibernation.:smirk:

I was extremely surprised to wake up to more snow this morning, it's stopped now, on the roads it was just a slushy mess but in the gardens and on the roof it's settled. Looks to be thawing though. The forecasters say we should have sun before the day is out.

It's supposed to get up in the fifties today. The weather was just
wonderful yesterday. Right now the sun is shining with clouds.

In the forties. I went out today without a coat on, plainly enjoying this heat wave. Only drawback is that the soil, covered with ice, gets very slippery with the water dripping from the snow banks.

The strength of this earth of ours: Arctic birds singing a vigorous song in the midst of this heat wave....
Love it.
