At high noon, we're at 92°F, sunny and no breezes.
I'm hoping this isn't a prelude to a long hot dry summer :shake:

Buch, that storm produced a tornado south of my hometown and I watched
it hail for about five minutes the size of quarters. It was a mess! Thank
goodness we only got hail. I watched the cloud go in that direction and
got scared and it hailed so much it looked like snow. Not to mention that
Madisonville and the surrounding area is all ready tore up from last winter's
ice storm. I don't know if the trees will ever get pretty again. But in
spite of what happened the dogwood tree by the church is still pretty
and full of blooms including some apple trees. Right now it's 80 degrees
and feels so good!

Hello all. My computer packed it in for a while - and then I changed my ISP. I'm on high speed now - what a difference. (Hey, I can watch that stuff on Utube - or whatever it's called without waiting half an hour for it to download).

OK - getting back on topic - it's been a nice spring day here partly cloudy, a bit of wind - high of about +17. They say it's going to be nice the next few days. We should make it up to +20 (70F) over the next few days.

Shazammm ... yah, isn't high speed fantastic - you'll never go back to dial-up again. Congratulations in moving up into the digital age, Rob

Tucson: Windy today, real gusty at times, nice temp in the mid 80's. Supposed to be about 94°F on Sunday and lots more sunshine.

Send some sunshine this way please! I haven't seen the sun shine in
so long I forgot what a sunny day looked like. Since Wednesday it's
been raining nonstop. The day it started I was looking for Noah and
his ark at any minute!

Quite a difference. I got 'lost' watching pipe organ and church bell videos the very first day. Also some facinating videos of singing and dancing parrots. (We have more than a few here). Grin. It's seldom quiet. Yak, yak, etc.

I still remember when I first logged onto local BBS back in the early 80s. Remember 300 baud? I sysoped my own discussion board for about eight years before the internet killed the local stuff. Highest speed then was 2400 bps.

Ahhh everything has come a very long way. Who knows what advances may be just around the corner?

To get back ON TOPIC...

Nice weather here - so far this weekend. But the stuff thats been hitting Judy is heading our way. It should be here by Thursday. Tracking this stuff via satellite can be very interesting. It can give you a heads up (or perhaps a heads down) well ahead of time. :D

Highs, about +17 - low temps about +7.

ATB! Rob.

Aloha rob,

Echoing GrandMaster Krummhorns sentiments, I too welcome your inclusion onto *high-speed* - It seems like just yesterday the adverts about dial-up service and some of its providers claiming they have more access numbers, were duking it out - Now gone the way of the DoDo bird!!!

Anyway, currently 77F w/ 88% RH and calm.

Yikes, the ice is about to crack on the Santa Cruz river  (a local thing when the temp gets to 100°F). The local forecast claims we will hit 101°F on Thursday or Friday. That is unusual for this early in May ... guess we are in for a very long hot summer here.

It's official ... Tucson hit 100°F yesterday. Forecast for today is 101°F - It's already 84° at 8:45 in the morning. Thank goodness for central AC in the house.

Currently 298.15 K (77 F) w/ 88% RH and calm. I'll be using the Kelvin scale for temperature since zero (0) Kelvin is the complete absence of all thermal energy. As a frame of reference, the average human body temperature is 310.15 K and the boiling point of water is 373.15 K - Water *freezes* at 273.15 K - The Kelvin Scale is an SI Unit (for those who wish to know). Also, the average surface temperature of the sun is 5778 K.

Aloha Grandmaster Krummhorn - Since you have central A/C in your house, may I ask what is the average electrical bill for running that system during the hottest summer month?

Hi Brother CD ...

Glad to answer ... It runs about $165 at the most. Our home is all electric ... but the water heater is on it's own separate meter and gets a special lower rate. We also opted for "time of use" where during the week there are "peak" hours (1pm to 6pm @ 17 cents/Kw hour) and "off peak" hours (9pm to 1pm the next day @ 7 cents/Kw hour). During the "peak" hours the inside thermostat is set to 78°, but at night we lower it to 72°

Current conditions: @ 12:30pm, it's 96°F, clear and sunny. Projected hi temp for the weekend is over 100°F both days.

Aloha GrandMaster Krummhorn,

Thanx for sharing. I thought maybe it would be alot more. My total electric bill is $250/month - What the utility company calls Island Surcharge :rolleyes::shake::banghead::scold: I'm soon finished with mounting solar cells for power generation and then I'll be *off the grid*.

Currently 304.261111 K w/ 99% RH and calm.

I guess we are still in 'april shower' mode here. The last four days have been typically scattered showers to heavy rain at times. Temp ranges from a low of around +6C to highs around +20. Today though they (meaning our local Enviroment Canada office)- predict a high of only +13. Overall though it's been an early and very nice spring. (So far)!

ATB! Rob:)
