Fall is finally here ... daytime in the low 80's (f) and nights into the low 50's (f).
The ol' air conditioner is getting a much needed rest after keeping us comfortable cool all summer long. Actually had to fire up the gas forced air heater the other day, but only in the morning.
But ... I'm still wearing shorts and short sleeved shirts (except on Sunday mornings though).

From what I've read, we were fairly lucky here in Dorset, some trees down and a bit of flooding, the main path of the storm seems to have been out to sea until it came ashore at the Isle of Wight (known locally as the "izzle of widget") then made its way inland, whilst another part of the storm came ashore around Bristol and headed up the M4 the 2 paths met around London and continued north easterly. Quite a few trees fell on railway lines causing considerable havoc, quite a few commuters didn't make into work. Other trees brought down power lines. Luckily only a couple of fatalities, probably as it was mostly at night and most people were at home in bed, the peak here was around 4am ( or so I'm told. I slept through it!).
