How's Your Weather?

We've now had over 8 weeks of almost continual gales and heavy rain, I can't recall a similar occurence; the forecast is not showing any let up as yet, we get occasional days with a bit of sun and less wind.

The flooding of the Somerset levels is almost a form of self inflicted injury, the area was mainly a peat bog, a considerable time ago some eejit thought it would be a good idea to drain it so as to get more useable farmland, result - as the peat dries out it shrinks so the surface gets lower, hence it floods more easily.

Nice sunny day with temperatures creeping into the 60s. Weeds are growing well but I do not have the energy for gardening since the opp. Luckily I did cut the grass before I went in.

Up into the mid 90°'s this week ... have run the AC at times here, but great weather for driving about at night with all the windows and sunroof wide open :)

70f today, although a little overcast. Good gardening weather, but I still do not feel well enough to get out there. Plus I have zero energy and stamina.

Cold at 65 f. Very overcast and windy. Threatened rain all day. My daughter flew out to Italy today. Very jealous.

A cool but pleasant day although quite breezy. A good drying day. They have promised some good weather to come and I am praying for an Indian Summer to keep the heating bills down. Coal is ordered and arrives next week. Christmas peeping around the corner. Ah well, there is always next year......

Hot - too @#$&^%^@# blinkin' hot. Too much stupid sunshine.

We remain in the high 90's to low 100's for the time being. This has continued until late October in years past. I joke about our region having but two seasons each year 1) Summer; and 2) Hotter than hell summer.

The rains we had two weeks ago were absolutely fantastic - flooded streets, clouds, cooler ... my kind of perfect weather. Can't move because wife can't tolerate cold and dampness ... and because I absolutely love our house too.

Now accepting orders for bottled hot weather and sunshine tablets ... Wish it were that easy to get rid of it ...

It's been raining all day. Seems like the summer ended about two weeks ago.

Autumn is here. A warm day at 66f but with the threat of rain. Cool enough to light a fire tonight but the coal has not been delivered yet so we put the heating on for an hour. Dark by 8.00 o'clock. Dreaming of th S of F with the long hot days and the cool local wine.

The prairie dog saw his shadow yesterday, so that means 2 more months of hot weather.

A nice respite today though ... raining currently and temps down to low 80's.

Looking forward to the end of October (when it finally cools off below 80)

Prairie dog? Know about Groundhog Day and Punxsutawney Phil on 2nd February, but have never heard of the prairie dog and his shadow. Need to google!
Autumn here, poured rain yesterday from late afternoon with 16 degrees C max. Clouds looming again now.

Started foggy here, took until about 11AM to clear when the sun finally burnt through but it was still misty out to sea until well into the afternoon.

Yesterday started misty, something I welcome in the Spring but not in the Autumn. Still, it looks beautiful from the top road, laying over the villages. Turned into a beautiful day with blue skies and hardly any breeze, hitting the high 60sF. Today similar but a little broken cloud, but by 4.30 pm it is cooling down and I am glad of a sweater

After a very kind September with some beautiful days Winter arrived today with gusty winds, rain and cold enough to light the first fire this Autumn. I just hope that we get enough good weather for me to finish off the gardening jobs I have started, including replacing an old hedge which is long past its sell by date and has been very neglected.
