This morning the sun shines from a clear blue sky, some cold winds though, but it´s still early in the morning on this saturday morning, May 17 in the holy year 2008.

Looking out my office window as I type this note, there are birds fluttering about in a playful manner, a gentle breeze from the West, and a mild temperature of 70°. The first blossoms of spring are appearing on the Bougainvillea in their crimson purple color.

Supposed to hit 91° (32°C) today and 101° (38°C) by Monday, typical for this time of the year.

70 degrees and vog to the max - vog is volcanic smog being emitted from a volcanic vent on the Big Island of Hawaii. Since there is no wind to carry it away, the whole island chain of Hawaii is being affected and thousands of people are being stricken with respiratory problems.

AWESOME, sunny all day long with no clouds (my garden is in bloom). However, the wind is not that warm. I still can´t figure out here in the middle of May 2008, that the temperature during the nights decreases to 2 degrees Celcius equals 34 degrees Fahrenhiet.

Today not very warm. We were suppose to have rain today, and although it has looked as if it might, none has come.

Same weather as yesterday - sunny all day, a bit less wind and some white clouds in the horizon, temperature 56 degrees Fahrenheit.

Corno Dolce :tiphat:

Is this a regular event on Hawaii?

Today is not a very good day,

Just a little sunshine and blue sky, but breezy and not very warm.

Dear Intet,

Ever since a new vent-hole opened up on the southeastern flank of Mauna Loa there has been much more vog plus the trade winds ar basically non-existant now which means that all the islands are afflicted. The Trade Winds blow from the northeast and head to the southwest and so they carry away the vog.

Cheers,

Off topic:

My dear friend Corno Dolce :tiphat:

So alot of people living close to this vulcano are really at danger, whenever the winds have a certain direction. It´s sad to hear.

How do the authoroties, I mean hospitals, doctors and the health care system on Hawii manage against this? Respiratory deseaces are dangerous to all of us, some people may even panic because it´s a frightening feeling and emotion, when and if you can´t breath ordinary, and I can easely imagine this scenario.
