Dear Intet,

The authorities have evacuated those most at risk but since the Volcano spews out the sulphurous gases and with no tradewinds, we who live in the Islands live with a certain element of risk. There are ways to personally mitigate the effects of the vog. Of course, we also have a much higher risk of suffering wipe-out catastrophes if an F5 Typhoon takes aim right at the Islands and "plows" through the middle of each Island. And then the threat of massive Earthquakes and Tsunamis - So yes, the Earth is a dangerous place to live on.

Cheers,

The birds outside my window this morning as always don´t seem to care or freeze. They keep singing from early in the AM.

Cloudy, no winds at all and the temperature too cold.

Hi Corno Dolce,

I was reading about this in the news last night. I can only compare it being similar to when Mt. St. Helens blew in Washington State in the early 80's - there were white ashes everywhere. What you are experiencing is far worse I fear; hopefully you are safe from harm.

71° this morning - forecast says the "Ice will melt on the Santa Cruz River" today. In the desert, ice doesn't melt until the temp gets to 100°.

Dear Master Krummhorn,

Thanx for your concern. Even I had a funny feeling in my lungs - When the vog was really thick I would give a slight cough every five minutes and then I could taste the Sulfur. It is not pleasant at all I can assure you that. I pray that I won't contract cancer because of it.

Cheers,

Corno! I agree with Krummhorn for real! You need to get out of there
and come to the USA or somewhere where it is safe. All of us in this
forum would hate to loose you because of the sulfur. Get yourself out
of there! Please do it for us!

Hi Ms. Judy,

Last I checked Hawaii was still the 50th State in the Union :D:grin::smirk:
I have been living here over 15 years and my roots, friends, and career are all here. Moving is frankly not an option since I'm paid handsomely for my services. My fiancee is from here and she has a great job doing what she loves. I appreciate very much your concern and am thankful for your and the MIMF-family friendship.

Cheers,

ps. The tradewinds have returned and the vog is being swept out to sea, YAY!!!!!!!

Corno Dolce,
I see in our local news that the tradewinds have begun to sweep some of the vog away ... hopefully this is true and you will get some much needed relief from this vicious health risk.

YEOW !!! ... We hit 102°F (38.3°C) today in Tucson, Arizona ... Finally, the ice has melted on the Santa Cruz and the river begins to flow its normal Northerly route once again.

Summer is officially here in this region ... Thank goodness for central A/C - 76° inside!

76 degrees inside - thats harsh! It was kinda like that here a few days ago - and thanks to the swimming pool, those were a good few days ;). but its gradually getting cooler and cooler. Today is grey and the winds are starting to pick up more and more.

I have enjoyed this day! It got up to about 83 today. I'm glad it's
getting warm. Believe me this summer might be just as hot but I
won't have to worry about my face freezing off walking to church.

Dear Ms. Judy :tiphat:

Just a lousy joke from me to you. It says in your post "Good morning", while the post you sent entered at the MIMF at 2:45 PM (Danish Time).:clap::banana::banana::trp::trp::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Well, Corno Dolce :tiphat:

You´re absolute right. The earth is a dangerous place to live on. But keep us informed will you please, if it get´s worse.

Today on tuesday: Cloudy, but the sun is there behind the clouds, much more windy than yesterday, temperature - not worth mentioning. Last night as cold as the night before with temperature below zero.
