75° @ 2230 hours, 79% RH (s-t-i-c-k-y outside), local mountain areas received 4 inches of rainfall in the last 6 hours - flash flood warning in effect until midnight. Flash floods occur in what are normally dry washes and riverbeds - flash flood = 6 foot wall of water in an instant without any warning, washing downstream anything in its path.

Hello Bob

Welcome to the forum, not everyone is an expert I am not, I just like music.

But we do have some very knowledgable people here.

Back on topic

Today it feels very humid, and there is some blue sky and sun. Rain expected sometime though.

Deal

Deal!

Currently 16 degrees Celsius and clear. Should be a fine day tomorrow.

Btw, we'll surely get some really hot 'n' humid weather at some point in the coming weeks, gc. Might remind you of FLA. *snickers*

It's all good. Even when it gets hot and humid here, I'm pretty sure that it will pale in comparison with the simmering pot of weather in FL. If it was hot and humid here and you took a flight to FLL, once you got off the plane - WHAM! It hits you like a punch in the face.

At least here I know it is only for a brief time. In FL it was more like 10 months of the year ;)

Today is absolutely goregeous. My veggies and herbs are thriving.

That is the way it is here. This weather has me baffled. Last year this
time the temps were up to 104 degrees. I felt like I was walking around
in Pheonix. It was so hot that the crocs I had on got soft under my feet.
I cooked when I tried to sleep where I lived because of no air except a
little fan running. Now that I do have air conditioning the weather even
outside is cooler.

Kentucky hasn't had such a heatwave since the seventies of 1977. We had a drought
that year, and in 1986 we had another hot drought. This year I guess will go down
in the history books for the hottest summer and coldest winter. Last winter was almost
as cold as some of the other states up north like New York for example. Two years
ago another unheard of disaster happened here in November of 05. That was a
tornado and the reminants of two hurricanes Dennis and Katrina. Here in Kentucky!
Kentucky summers are hot but not like this! I'm hoping that it cools down next
week. Everybody's lawn is dead as a doornail. Even the toughest weeds here can't
take it. Their dieing in this heat.

This is what I mean. This was right after I joined
the forum in August.

A torrential storm last night - lightening dancing all around every few seconds - pounding rain so hard that the cars wipers could not keep up, and the road in front of the car totally disappeared from view (had to pull over and stop, obviously) - Sooo neat ... Yeah! I love this weather.

Looks like we are going to taper off a bit to the low 90's for a few days according to the weather meteorologists ... translated means: hotter than heck, and stormy ...

Currently, 98°, 25% RH, Wind from the North @ 7mph

Here in AZ it's been really muggy, and in the low 90's with the promise of rain.
Doesn't always deliver though in monsoon season. LOL
