Chilly 50 degrees (F) in Southern Arizona ... lightly raining for the 3rd day in a row ... the Catalina Mountains (8000 foot elevation) are totally obscured by low clouds and receiving snow today ... should be an amazing sight when the clouds clear out in a couple days. I love winters here ... summers are just too blinkin hot for me.

Weather here right now is disgusting. It has been raining for the last three
days and yesturday looked like London England with all of the fog hanging
around until last night. Tempertures have been only 31 degrees for a high
and right now the temp was only 41 degrees. It's cold as an iceberg and
really wet. I wished I was in Arizona but don't want to leave my church
right now.

Hey Judy, if you have to much cold, send some of it this way. We have an excess of heat that I will gladly push your way.

Hi jvhldb,

Wouldn't it be nice if we could bottle up weather and send it around to share?
Is this normal for all these wide fluctuations in temperature for your region?

Yes that would be nice. Today we are having a beautiful 61 degree sun
shiny day but it is supposed to change before the week is over! Bummer!:(
Yes that would be nice. I wished we could have bottled up some of last
summer's 105 hot days to battle this cold. That would be nice. You're
right Krummhorn.

Arizona - the Desert does have its beauty - Chilly today - 40 (F) (4.4 C)
The tall Saguaro cactus in the foreground and the snow covering all the brown shrubs transforms this desert community into our own Winter Wonderland.

I've got you beat Mr. Krummhorn. Here in Madisonville, KY it's 41 degrees
and the bottom has fell out of the temperature gage outside it's supposed
to fall down into the twenties. Burr!:nut: I'm freezing and you don't have a
smiley face for that one. There is also snow in the forcast for this
weekend. I think the forcaster is going to be a bit slow with it with the
weather dererating. Sorry I can't spell.

Appologies for the late repy Krummhorn, but our internet connections are as reliable as a weather forecast.

The temp fluctuations are not normal for us, this time of year it should be hot, hot and hot with the occasional showers in the afternoon, with low humidity. It feels like I'm in a completely different part of the continent with the strange weather we have.

Snow, snow and more snow!

This is our second blizzard of the season. Two weeks ago it was 40 cm, and now it looks like it's gonna be around 35 cm. We're shoveling our heads off!

Poor guy! I'm freezing my fanny off and my face is froze after just a brisk
walk to my church. Burr! After Christmas and New Years, I'm ready for
March and the springtime after about half of my water pipes freeze and
almost bust. Right now I think it's 35 degrees and will be in the twenties
by tonight. My house is so drafty that It's like living in a tent.

Wow, Rojo ... this after such a mild summer for you there ... at least you get snow for the holidays ... I would love, just once at least, to live in a region where it snowed - the experience would be fun, at least for the first winter.

Don't you live close to the mountains? I know that the Rockies get
snow during the winter. I don't have to go to any mountain to get
snow. I wished I could be in a tropical climate for christmas. I'm
tired of being cold.

Very cold today, woke up to a good frost. Then noticed flakes coming down. Maybe a white Christmas after all.

Me? Well, yes close to mountain ranges but not the rockies. The Santa Catalina Mountains (8,000 foot elevation) aren't far off - just about 10 miles away - I can see them from my home office window while sitting at this PC. Further away are the White Mountains ... a five hour drive from where I live.

I'm just the opposite ... I hate the long hot summers here ... but the winters for the most part are absolutely wonderful.

Our winter is all messed up (just as any other season). You can never guess what the weather is going to be like. Yesterday I was wearing a tank top, and today I need a hat and scarf just no to freeze at work :)

Thats why I love San Francisco though :) - "The coldest winter is the summer in San Francisco" (Mark Twein) ;)

Tonight we are under a tornado watch unstead of a blizzard warning.
This is supposed to be January here. Kentucky is supposed to get
snow in January. Today has been near the 70 mark and now in the
sixties. This time last week it was a freezing 2 degree to 15 degree
weather.:nut::whistle:
