How's Your Weather?

Here we go again!

We finally got out of the deep freeze today. It was totally clear sky, warm sun - no wind and a high of -4C. (The last couple of weeks we had lows betwee -12 and -17C with a lot of wind).

But now the fun arrives. The weatherman claims we are about to get between 17 ad 20 cm of blowing snow over the next two days. Ahh what fun, but at least the days are getting longer. Batten down the hatchers - I have no intention of heading out... (Big grin).

And here's the other side of the weather coin

It's 33 C at almost 7.00pm and the third instance of too-hot-to-sleep nights in a row. We've been promised a storm by the weather bureau, but it doesn't look as though it's heading in my direction.

Vicki, would you like a snow storm instead? That's what we've got.

It's still snowing now; we're supposed to receive around 20 cms-worth.

On the plus side, I'm really enjoying my snow tires.

we had lots of snow lately in france, though nothing violent. In Versailles the landscapes are beautiful, like a Friedriech landscape. today the weather is warmer, almost summertime in comparison to the week we had. around zero degrees Celsius i guess.

Thank you Mike, I have two sisters-in-law, one in Devon, the other in Somerset. They always seem to have better weather than us.

Margaret, I have a friend in Devon, but he's up on Dartmoor so reports mostly doom and gloom from his area at this time of year.

The local paper did report though that the sea had frozen in a few places in and around Poole Harbour, something not reported from this area since 1962/3.

All is well

We got about 25 Cm the other day. Light fluffy stuff - easy to move. Perhaps the oly problem was the way its blowing around. The temp has bee holding around -12C, but the wind makes it feel a lot colder. Forecast for Montreal is -17C tonight - but the wind should quit early in the evening.

So far - just a more-or-less normal winter here.

ATB!
