Our weather is driving us nuts. Two days ago we had to go hunting for electric blankets and winter clothing, yesterday it was 44°C (in the shade). Our electricity supplier decided to activate load shedding in the middel of the day, so no aircon, when the temperatorue in the shop reached 48°C I decided to close. Today the temperature was in the 40s again, with heavy rain with the result that we had condensation problems on some equipment due to the humidity and now they forecast a cold front for the weekend.

Kentucky's weather is still crazy. The last time I sent an email about
the weather four days ago with temperatures at 60 to 70 degrees up
until last night when the temperatures began to fall. All day the news-
casters mentioned snow today in the form of flurries. Yesterday it
was 74 degrees and stormy. It rained all day. I miss the 105 degree
summer we were having three months ago. I know it was dangeriously
hot last summer but it sure beats the pants off freezing your kuester
off on your way to your neighbor's business place. I'm almost the only
resident in my neighborhood. Everyone else is a business like either a
bank, newspaper, and the railroad by CSX.

Hi all

Well here in Milton Keynes Uk today it is dull with a slight breeze. I don't know what temperature it was yesterday, but when I went out I met some brass monkeys looking for a welder. We get the odd bit of frost in the morning, but it does go off in a while. I am hoping for not too cold a winter and look forward to spring with all the lovely blossom and pretty flowers

Since you live in England and I'm over here in the US in Kentucky,
I can say A-man Brother! I agree. Kentucky is a lot like England.
For the last two days we finally got two nice days out of November.

It's quite pleasant in London today – there's cloud, but it's high and broken, so blue sky is visible over the capital.

I'm more concerned about the weather forecast for Paris though, since I'll be there in less than 24 hours. :)

Finally, cold weather here in Arizona ... 58 today and light rain - so nice to see all the greenery having been washed off and sparkling in the light breeze ... a refreshing sight that is great for the soul.

I wished I could say the same. It is really cold here in Kentucky. My
church is only two blocks which are really small, and I almost get frost
bite on my face. It is only forty six for the day's high. I sleep with
two heaters and a bed loaded with aghans. My appartment is not
very big. In fact is very small. So I only need two electric heaters.

My gosh, Judy .. from the frying pan heat to really cold in a short time span there ... do you typically get any snow there, too?

We went from 46°C (109°F) yesterday to 14°C (57°F) this morning with rain, and this is supposed to be summer in South Africa!

Hi jchldb,

Is this typical for your region? Temperature swings of such magnitude is something my body just could not tolerate. It must take a bit to get used to.

I told you that the weather here is crazy right now. Sometimes we get
snow. We had a three footer when I was in my teens. That was thirty
years ago. This year the weather is just crazy and boring. I would like
to see the first snow come at least before christmas. To tell you the
truth, I'd rather have the weather Arizona is getting right now. It's
too cold for me. My late husband got his christmas wish before he died.
It came a blizzard on Christmas eve just a month away before he passed
on. I miss him pretty much sometimes his silly grin:grin:, puzzled looks, his
laughter, being able to talk to him. It's pretty crummy to be a widow
at 47 when other ladies my age still have their husbands. But the way
he suffered I wouldn't want him back. Talk about crazy weather we had
a tornado two years ago before thanksgiving. A tornado! They only come
around kentucky during the spring storms.

It's definately not normal, we are supposed to be in the middle of summer. This time of year we should have temperatures between 30°C-45°C (86F-113F) with afternoon rain anything less than 24° is considered winter, but then we didn't have a proper winter either. Instead of having below zero temperatures in the morning going up to about 15° in the morning we had an average temperature closer to 20° the whole winter, most days we came to work with only light winter clothing.

Is the thought that this much diversity in the weather could be attributed to the issue of global warming? Wondering how the meteorologists explain what is happening.

That is not fair:mad:. It's already December so it should be cold and snowy out there (at least 0°C/32°F). And what do I get instead? Some 14°C and it is not even going to be snowing in next few days(rhyme not intended:nut::grin:).

Here where I am in the UK, it is very wet and is just begining to get cold. Up in Scotland there has been quite a fall of snow. I am hoping for no snow, it might be pretty but it is also cold and not very nice under foot.
