Good morning from an autumnal Sydney

Hello,I am Adriana, and my instrument goes wherever I do (voice). I was very happy to come across such an interesting site, a place of meeting/communion for so many musicians from all over the planet! My interests in music are wide, besides 'classical', including eastern european folk music, fusion of genres etc. When it comes to singing, I've been involved especially in early music and(mediaeval, renaissance) baroque. I've spend a lot of time in Cathedrals and churches singing sacred polyphonies. Music and performing for me means so much, it is a solace, a great happiness, a way to be deeply moved and to become more sensitive.

Thanks for welcoming me ! there are many works and composers that I love. I like Delalande (Miserere) very much, and in general, the french baroque period, membra jesu nostri (buxtehude), palestrina, gesualdo, victoria etc, bach, rachmaninof, martinu, but also hovhaness, part. again, there is a lot i could mention. and others such as laurie anderson, king crimson etc. by the way, i lived in quebec and montreal for a few years. although the very looong and sometimes very cold winters finally got to me, I have fond memories of this part of canada. i also used to attend the lake macdonald musical camp, do you know it? it was very nice to practice and learn music in such a beautiful natural setting!

Isn`t that the place in the west island associated with McGill? You might want to consider coming back here sometime; our winters are getting milder every year it seems...

The camp is called CAMMAC, and i don't know if it is associated with McGill. maybe I'll visit Canada again one day, i still have a few friends over there!

Hello! I went to that camp when I was young. Some fond memories and some strange ones from there. It`s not associated with McGill; I was thinking of McGill`s MacDonald campus I think.

I should mention that our winters have also gotten shorter. :up: Maybe just avoid coming over in Jan. or Feb. :grin:

hi! i am now intrigued about your strange experiences at cammac! one summer night, there was an electricity blackout and the concert had to be held in semidarkness and by the light of candles; there was a storm. so that was beautiful strange!
thanks for the weather tips. now i remember the verglas episode in january 1998...

and there was a rumour about a lochness like monster in that lake

Ha, oh yeah! Forgot about that! I remember the boathouse as well. And being woken up with a trumpet call, and other musical sounds. Fun place; I did guitar, oboe and piano there, and some other stuff. Met a lot of interesting people too. It was my first time away from home without parents, so I guess everything seemed a bit strange.

Ice storm '98; now that was something! Haven`t seen anything like that before or since; ice caked on everything several inches thick. Days without power, some people even weeks without it. Yeesh.
