Hi
My name is Andrew Blackburn. I am an organist from Melbourne Australia. I play at a church in the inner suburb of Toorak and have the pleasure to play on a large 40 rank) 2 manual organ by Peter Collins. The organ has been voiced by Knud Smenge - a local builder - and is now a very full-toned and beautiful instrument to play.
I live in the mountains on the eastern edge of Melbourne city - which is very large.
A link to the church where I play can be seen at:
http://toorak.unitingchurch.org.au/
There is a link to the choir and music pages and also the arts centre Kinross House on this page. I also direct the Arts centre.
You will see from my profile biog, that I am studying for a Doctorate of Musical Arts at Queensland Conservatorium. My area of reseach is the 'pipe organ and real-time DSP'.
I recently recorded a cd of Handel organ concertos - op 4 for Move Records
It was recorded on an old (by Australian Standards!) organ. It has been well received here. the edition is Walsh's edition of 1738 arranged (by Handel) for solo organ or harpsichord. -

Hello Andrew ...

Welcome to MIMF. We're happy to have to here as part of this community.

That's a very impressive music library your church has - one of the most complete collections I've seen in many years. Do you have any pictures of the organ?

Again, glad to have you aboard and looking forward to your participation in the forums here.
