Realizing the great differences in programming from one country to another, it might be cool to get a discussion going about Television shows. There may be similarities, especially when it comes to BBC productions.

I'll start:
Ugly Betty - ABC Thursdays
Grey's Anatomy - ABC Thursdays

Allo! Allo! - PBS Saturdays (Love the hilarious French policeman)
Waiting for God - PBS Saturdays (originates from BBC)
As Time Goes By - PBS Saturdays

There are more, but this is off the cuff for starters

All-time - Seinfeld
Lately - Arrested Development, Stand-up comedy like Just For Laughs (not the practical jokes show though.)

I'm not a huge TV watcher and my current only 'must-see' drama is Dr Who: complete bunkum, but well done and hugely enjoyable – just what escapist entertainment should be.

There are huge amounts of things that I treasure from years gone by – the Victoria Wood sitcom Dinnerladies, I Claudius, Allo, Allo, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and more.

The US has provided two of my all-time favourite shows in Babylon 5 and West Wing.

Dr. Who! Dr. Who!

Of course that's not on Korean TV. Instead we get endless marathons of CSI, interspersed with shows in which random groups of comedians try to eat 50 bowls of Ramen noodles in under 4 minutes.

Oh, and maybe an occasional Alias.

Then there is of course the old school series of the 80'es:

A-Team
Airwolf
Night Rider (not THAT good)
and MacGyver (my favorite!)

Christine Callisen

NONONONOOOOOO

Amy (the Judge)
E.R.
AND BEVERLY HILLS (again again again and again):p

AND DON`T YOU DARE SAY I`M WRONG!!!

Simon,
Are the "Simpsons" shows dubbed in Danish? If so, what is the Danish word for "Doh"?

Gotta love the Simpsons. Great show, and has been for a long time.

Umm. Just a personal opinion, but I think it's been on too long. My other half loves watching it and some episodes I must have seen a dozen times.

For my money, Futurama (criminal of Fox to stop commissioning it) and Family Guy are far funnier and sharper.

Well, no need to watch repeats; they`re still making new ones (from wikipedia) -

Since its debut on December 17, 1989, the show has aired 395 episodes over 18 seasons, and as of March 20, 2006, it was renewed for a 19th season, due to be aired in 2007–2008. The 18th season finale will be the 400th episode, and 2007 marks the 20th anniversary of The Simpsons franchise. A feature-length film, The Simpsons Movie, is currently being produced, to be released on July 27, 2007.

Now that`s longevity...

Wonder if the movie will be any good.

Never got into Futurama, nor Family Guy; not sure why not.

Nope, it's just titled. "doh" can't be translated :)

I've never seen to much of family guy, so I can't say I know it. But I was under the impression that it's kind of the same as american dad ? Some of my friends told me they are quite similar. Don't know if they were right, I haven't seen it.

Yes! I will have to say that Star Trek is my favorite of tv shows. Since I
was in the first grade when it came on to the Deep Space Nine shows,
Star trek was my favorite with Spock and Captain Kirk to Jean Luke Piccard.
The music on there improved with each different segment of the show.
I liked watching it with popcorn. Even some of the movies were good.

Currently right now what I like to watch is The Colbert Report on Comedy Central, and Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law on Adult Swim. Those are basically the only two shows I watch during the week.

Corno Dolce

Admiral Honkenwheezenpooferspieler
Monarch Of The Glen on BBC - Now on DVD.

*Rejseholdet* - I know just enough Danish to be able to follow a great TV-serie. Mads Mikkelsen does a terrific job.

And few other shows aired on Polish TV. Usually I don't have time to watch them all. However when it comes to Lost I'm always on time at home to watch next two episodes:grin:
