Holidays- Are you going anywhere?

Propably Salisbury CD. A few years ago Canterbury started to repair the damage they had done with concrete, following the damage Hitler did, and a lot of it looks much better now. It is certainly worth a visit and you would love the cathederal.

Teddles,

I've been to Canterbury and am thoroughly moved by the Cathedral. Salisbury I visited a very long time ago so my memory is quite foggy:banghead:

If you have been to Canterbury Cathedral you can imagine the pleasure we had when my daughters graduation ceremony was staged there. All the pomp not to mention the choir and the organ. Wonderful occasion

Back from the South of France and missing it. The sunshine, the heat, the pace of life, the simply food. Pining. Pining.

This is the old converted shepherds cottage we stay in, complete with 10 metre pool at the back.

Drinks with the owners family in the evening. (or should that be drunks?)

Have just got back from two weeks holiday on the Norfolk Broads.

For those who don't know what they are, here is an introduction.

A lovely way to spend time Margaret. I had had two holidays on the canals but would love to do the broads as well. A gorgeous way to see the scenery, not to mention the wayside pubs.

CD Thank you, and the third one is a looker as well.
Mat, thanks for the help. For only £360 a week it was quite a bargan.. It will certainly be dearer next year when they have been advertising longer.

The Millau Bridge which crosses the valley thereby avoiding the village of Millau. Worth a trip to the S of F just to see it. The best view is when heading South in the late afternoon, when the sun catches it from 90 degrees and it looks like a giant sailing ship.

It was very relaxing CD, it is well worth a visit Teddy, lot's of riverside pubs and good places to eat.

We have done canal cruising as well.

That looks like a very interesting bridge, I do like France.

Thanks again Mat
Margaret. I found the canals very relaxing with the way that they often cut through deep country. Beautiful in the Spring with all the wild flowers along the towpath.

I would love to go topless over the Millau bridge. Margaret I had a holiday on the Broads but at the first fuel stop the boat blew up and we were given a small Yacht with an even smaller engine

The boat blew up? that must have been very scary. I have been on yachts, but I like a little comfort now.

Yes the man took our money and waved I switched on the ignition and pushed the starter then one heck of a bang from the stern my wife's brother was standing on the stern board it blew him into the water and a bag of soft centered sweets were launched like missiles and splattered onto the nearby boats, I only have the old Kodak colour transparencies which I can't post as I do not have the software, ah those were the days
