So what does this mean, exactly? What's a Senior Regulator? Sounds like scuba gear, or...hum...a high stop on the pipes? What powers do you get? Hey--how old is that cake?

Regulator
Well, a "regulator" is what normal forums calls a "moderator" (with power to "moderate"; move and delete posts, give infractions, etc.). Normally regulators are assigned to one or more specific forums, but a "Senior Regulator" can regulate all forums on the entire site.

Now, you may ask why it's called regulator and not moderator. Well, since we have been using navy ranks for the title system for many years it simply seemed fittingly to use the title "regulator" as well. A regulator is the navy pendent to the military police :D (But please don't take the "militaristic" titles the wrong way, we are a quite peaceful site - and the titles are all in good fun ;))

:tiphat::trp: Thank you all for the congrats :tiphat::trp:

I would be remiss in not thanking our 5 Star Admiral, Frederik Magle, for creating this wonderful music community for all of us to enjoy where all of us can share thoughts, debate touchy subjects, laugh and, yes, even cry, sometimes.

I am delighted to be working with Robin, and all the Regulator staff, in this new extended capacity. Though many of us have never met face to face, I feel like MIMF is my extended family - It's the people here that make MIMF the special place it is.

Mmmmmm, the cake ... finally, a Sr. Regulator who provides cake ... thanks Rojo!! ;)

Susangio,
In addition to what Admiral Magle has mentioned, we are, first and foremost, regular forum members who like to participate in the various discussions, too. :)

We are also here to help the members enjoy their experience by keeping the windows washed and the occassional crumbs swept up and put into the trashcan ... :smirk:

Help yourselves to cake, everyone! Now that I`m Sr. Regulator, I`m above such menial tasks such as serving cake. :p :D Besides, I already did my part by providing it. It`s hard to find decent cake...

Jan- You lived in Germany? That must have been fantastic. Whereabouts? Did you hear any good classical music there, in concerts etc.?

Just goes to illustrate how things can improve with age ...
Thank goodness someone had the good sense to freeze the leftovers since July a year ago.
