Second youtube video - Joy to the world

Here's my second youtube video. It's an arrangement of the famous carol 'Joy to the world' for trumpets, timpani & tambourine and organ. Of course the arrangement is such as it allows congregation or choir singing with the ensemble.

Enjoy!

Hi Falcon1,

Nice arrangement, although I felt the tempo was a bit hurried for congregational singing. For a choral group, though, it would be fine. It's such a great inspirational hymn.

Interesting to note that our new Lutheran hymnal has this hymn place in the Advent section. That blew my socks off ... but we used it during Christmas eve services anyway last year.

Glad you loved my arrangement Judy. :D

Krummhorn, yes you're absolutly right - this tempo is more for either instrumental only or with choir rather than congregation. But of course it's up to the conductor to choice right tempo for his group.

I often find this carol be sung too slowly. Which I find rather strange. :)

Hmm... there's always some oddballs in our hymnals hehe... I always play this as a Christmas carol. Maybe I have got this wrong all these years hehe...:)

I don't think the tempo was too fast or hurried. At least it didn't drag.
This is a feel good song. The Lord has come! Joy to the World!
