• Welcome to the Pipe Organ Forum! This is a part of the open community Magle International Music Forums focused on pipe organs (also known as "church organs"), organists, organ music and related topics.

This forum is intended to be a friendly place where technically advanced organists and beginners (or even non-organists) can feel comfortable having discussions and asking questions. We learn by reading and asking questions, and it is hoped that the beginners (or non-organists) will feel free to ask even the simplest questions, and that the more advanced organists will patiently answer these questions. On the other hand, we encourage complex, technical discussions of technique, music, organ-building, etc. The opinions and observations of a diverse group of people from around the world should prove to be interesting and stimulating to all of us.

As pipe organ discussions can sometimes become lively, it should be pointed out that this is an open forum. Statements made here are the opinion of the poster, and not necessarily that of the forum itself, its administrator, or its moderators.

In order to post a new topic - or reply to existing ones - you may join and become a member by clicking on Register New User. It's completely free and only requires a working email address (in order to confirm your registration - it will never be given away!). We strive to make this a friendly and informative forum for anyone interested in pipe organs and organ music.

virtual organ + virtual singers = song of bapteme

Hi !
For the bapteme of my nephew, I wrote, a few years ago this small song.
Virtual Organ is played by a French software called "harmony-assistant", and virtual singers (a male and a female voices) are played by a plug-in of this software.

Do you like it ?
Does someone want to write English lyrics ?

here is the music : http://musicalis.monespace.net/autres/img167a.mp3
and here is the PDF score (with French lyrics) : http://musicalis.monespace.net/autres/img167a.mp3
The plug-in called "virtual singer" is able to sing in English, french, Italian .... latin. Many differents voices are available, even Edith Piaf.

Tell me what you think about that. Thanks :)

Hi J-Paul,

Nice tune - It's a tune that is easy on the ears. A surprise ending though ... I was expecting a return to the starting key. Maybe that was intentional.

One of these days I'll get around to experimenting with Harmony-Assistant. I downloaded the trial version a couple days ago. If I have questions about it, I'll fire them off to you.

very good remark

 In fact you are right. I was so hurry to complete this song that I have not written the word "end".
The song ends in the middle of bar n°5 after the word "généreux".
very good remark !!! thanks.

Hi Jean-Paul,

It seems to that both the links you gave are to the mp3 version, and that there's no link to the PDF. I would really like to see the score.

Hi Jean-Paul,

I've been waiting for someone to come up with a lyric. But since noone seems to be forthcoming, I'll present my idea.
It occurred to me that this tune fits the text of "When He Cometh," an old hymn that's sometimes used at christenings and baptisms. I'm sending my version to your message box.
I still hope that there's a poet out there who will write a real lyric for this delightful melody--maybe a free translation of the French text?

I don't listened it yet, but i have Harmony Assistant with Virtual singer. I think its human voice is terrible. A true choir is better. But the organ is good.
